Homemade Bird Feeders

The girls and I saw this in a Family Fun magazine. We finally got around to making them today. You toast a piece of bread and cut it out with a cookie cutter. Spread peanut butter on both sides then dip it into bird seed. We punched a hole in the center with a screwdriver and tied them with string to the trees. I can't wait till morning to see our little friends enjoying their special treat.

It looks wonderful! You guys did such a nice job. We are going to try this, I also have a hummingbird feeder I need to fill. No lack of goodies for the local wildlife around here!

I love this idea. We made birdfeeders once using big pine cones. We spread peanut butter on the pine cone and dipped it in bird seed. It was messy but fun and the summer heat melted the peanut butter off the pine cone. I bet it would work better on toasted bread. We will have to try this! Thanks for the idea!
